Rotten to the Core

I got a most unexpected phone call from English Diva this evening. I hadn’t talked to her since July. I saw her for just a few hours, met Bruceford, drank mojitos, and played cards. We had a great time, but we just haven’t been able to connect all summer. I knew when I couldn’t get a hold of her that a) she got a new teaching job and she was too stressed to talk or b) she didn’t get a new teaching job and she was too stressed to talk. I’m happy to report that it was the former rather than the latter.

English Diva and I caught up on all the happenings, and it was really wonderful to talk to her. I love each and every one of my friends dearly—you all bring me such different treasures. What I love best about English Diva is that even after long absences from one another’s lives, we can pick back up where we left off. We have such a history there and our families are similar shades of crazy, so we can relate on so many levels. She also has the ability to knock me off my righteous horse and put me in a catty mood in two-point-five seconds. Of course I only talk smack about non-Gal Pals!

I am extremely tired, so please excuse the shortness of the post. I hope you all enjoyed Talk Like A Pirate Day! I know I did. Arr!!!!!
